Default Kuryakyn Flip Blades or FBI Jac-Knife

Has anyone used either of the Kuryakyn Flip Blades or FBI Jac-Knife Highway pegs. I think I like the Kuryakyn better cuz its designed to give away when cornering. I can't tell how easy it is to deploy while driving though. Any input would be appreciated.

I heard from a dealer that the Kury's won't be available onto the new year. They are on line but not in production. I do like the fact that they have springs which will kick up if you corner too hard.

I've purchased a lot of Kuryakyn products when I was riding Goldwings. There seem to always be quality issues with some Kury accessories. They may not have the same problems with accessories for Harley's.

I avoid Kury products. Quality on most of their stuff is abysmal.

Default Flip Blades recalled

I just bought a set in March and now J&P cycle wants me to send them back because Kuryakyn has recalled them due to they keep breaking. You can not deploy them while ridding and they are not very sturdy. I was told I would not get replacements till July at the earliest . Overall they look really cool but that is about it. I hope I just get my money back.

Bought mine at the local dealer on sale. Was in there yesterday to get something and the parts manager told me the same thing. They're going to be redesigned and you'll get a replacement. He didn't tell me when the new redesigned ones would be coming. I like mine and will just wait until the new ones come. There was nothing said about getting a refund from Kuryakyn.

About the only thing good from Kuryakyn is their plug and play led turn signals and the in line run/brake/turn module. They have major issues with their chrome plating and other hard parts.

The original creators of the Jac-Knife highway peg (Patent No: US 7,497,291
B1) are the engineers at Innovative Metal Technologies in Lincoln, NE
(imtnebraska.com). The Kuryakyn flip blade is different in that it contains
a locking mechanism, which does not give away on impact if it makes contact
with the road...turning your bike into a giant metal top. The pegs made by
IMT are spring loaded and will retract to a safer position on impact. Also,
they can be placed back under the floorboards with your boots without having
to having to lean down and do it yourself. Fat Baggers signature series is
manufactured by IMT. You can order your set directly from IMT via their website.

I do enjoy my FBI Jack knife pegs. I purchased mine about a year ago and soon 3 buddies followed my purchase. I will reorder the pegs when I wear them out from IMT direct rather then using FBI. The second generation has a rubber insert to keep you from slipping on them. I never slipped off but piece of mind is important.

Epiper Nice shamless plug on your post. You do have a great product hands down!
