Streetglide backrest advice?
#22
I just installed the adjustable kind (got a great deal on it) and right off I noticed there is a great deal of adjustment right at my fingertips, micro to macro. Will I ever use them? Probably not as most folks I've read or heard about find the sweet spot and never move it. I might be able to find the right spot with the non-adjustable by taking it off and on and playing with washers etc. Not worth the hassle to me. Far, far easier with the adjustable plus if I feel an urge for a change...

Yes I knew about that. I bought mine off eBay and it just didn't ever work right. If I tightened it enough not to slip, it wouldn't move at all.
I did drill a hole and put a bolt through the stem, so it would only go down so far. But I use two different seats and the height is different for each seat. I just got tired of it not working right. I can't stand anything that doesn't work right. I may try another one, but I will buy it directly from Mustang, so I can return it if it happens again.
