monday and picked it up today.Much better engine performance and alot better sounding bike when running it through the gears.Much better idle also.Not the valkyrie,but a lot better than it was.........JerryB.

 

Another reason to have your dealer do, at least, the 1K check up. Good job of protecting your investment.

 

What problems were you experiencing (if any) with the 8 degree injectors?

My '06 RK Classic has the 8's and it occasionally coughs while it's warming up. Symptom or normal?

My 06 EG Classic would stall at start up, then stall when slowing to a stop after just going 2/10 mile. Sometimes it would stall accellerating from a stop going into traffic. Not a healthy situation. Mentioned it to my dealer when scheduling my 5K service and he said they had a bullitin about the injectors and told me to get it to them asap instead of the following week when I was scheduled for service. Swapped out the 8's for 25's and no more stalling. Runs like a dream.

 

Upgrade on the injectors? Its a warranty issue. No Charge.

 

The upgrade is covered under warranty on new bikes. Cost me nada. Had my bike in for 1K service and told them I did not like the way the bike was running. Coughing through intake with occasional stalling. Alot of decel popping. Got the bike new with the Stage 1. Old injectors were 8 degree. Upgrade to 25 degree injectors and new Stage 1 download resulted in immediate improvement. Coughing and stalling are GONE. Still get decel pop, but not as bad. The Stage 1 download is still a bit lean, but HD is stuck with pleasing the EPA.

 

Think I can get this done on a 2002 Road King?

 

Seems to me they switched to 25 degree injectors in mid Feb.........anything after that had the 25 injectors installed during assy.Mine had a mfg date of 11/05 on the steering head and in cooler weather it would kick back,stall when you took off.Coupled of times it stalled crossing a main hwy going to work.....talk about having to back-pedal to get out of the road!....It runs alot better now......will know for sure when the colder weather sets back in.......JerryB

 

My '06 Low Rider had the 8 injectors and had the symptoms you mentioned.

Had the injectors swapped out last week, with new re-map, at no charge.

Been running fine ever since.
