Are any of you running Progressive rear shocks, the 440's and the 940's and what do you think of them on your bikes? Thanks for any input.

I've got the 440's. I put the 11.5 inch to lower the back a little. I am very satisfied with the ride, and have had no bottoming out issues with or without passengers. Marked improvement in control over the stockers.

Shocks have quite a range. I am of the opinion that stock shocks suck (still have them on the '08) and Progressibe's are only marginally better. If you are going to spend money on new shocks get something great, not just good. Talk to Howard at Motorcycle Metal (forum Sponsor) and see what he suggests as he is extremely knowledgeable on shocks. http://motorcyclemetal.com/

I also have the 440s on my 07 RG (stock length). Maybe 2500 miles. They are fine, but I am changing the front end suspension so will change the rear to match.

I'd sell the 440s for $250 plus shipping.

Agree about seeking excellence over something less. I have passed over on Progressives and ordered Ohlins from Howard.

Default +3

...+3 on Ohlins from Howard, and I had both the 440s and Works Steel Trackers prior to that.

I think a lot of us hunt for perfection round the usual brands, spending good money as we go, before spending that little extra for seriously good shocks! Cheaper to buy the best first - and I am sure I am not the first to wish I had done just that.

12" 440 HDs on my 06 RG. Great ride and good control.
