......... i think i'm one'a the dopier RG riders on here, cuz my shield choice had nuthin' to do w/ the physics of buffeting or 'dead air envelopes'. See, i put lowers on right away, since i got my Roadie in the winter & wanted to keep riding w/o freezing. I therefore never did encounter the 'buffeting' that some talk about. I was riding the freeway to Ft Collins one day when i realized that if i ducked down behind my stock windshield I could hear the stereo better, so i figgered maybe a taller one'd give me better sound w/o having to duck. Being an unimaginative & non-adventurous sort, I figured i'd stick w/a Harley product & when this taller one was being almost given away on flea-bay, i assumed that gawd was tellin' me something !
...... if I was more imaginative & adventurous & not so damned cheap I'd'a prob'ly looked into a Clearview w/a vent, but tall, flamed & cheap has worked well with my 6'2" frame for a bunch of years now.

i think by adding lowers you can get by with a shorter shield
