I've had a Nuvi 750 for about a year now. Use it on the bike. Haven't had a problem with rain ruining the unit, and yes, I've ridden in the rain. I plan routes using Mapquest and load them into the 750, and I have a 16 GB card loaded with thousands of songs installed, all without problems. You'll love the unit.

And, I can't remember right now where I picked it up, but somewhere out there on the web, someone has a HD POI file you can load, which I did, and it tells me that I'm approaching a HD dealership. Works well.

I download the POI file that has every HD dealer in the country. It works. I thought I had the HDForum page bookmarked how to do it but I don't. Here's the Garmin page you use to get you started though.

Many are using Nuvi models on bikes with no issues. Just need to cover it or take it off in the rain.

The best GPS for bikes is the Garmin 550. It's waterproof and has a very secure cradle locking device, designed for the outdoors and bike vibrations. Also comes with a auto mount. You can use your PC to plan a route, then load it into the Garmin 550.

On the 750 you can only do a route pre-plan trip using the GPS itself, you can not pre-plan from your PC and load into the Garmin 750. All you can do from your PC is load additional POI using the Garmin POI installer, or different vehicles from the "Garmin garage".

Just a heads up, I went down this same road. I use my 750 in my car and now have a 550 on the bike.

Ram makes a cradle , so with a m/c mount and this cradle having the gps to come lose shouldn't be a problem! http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResu...5/Default.aspx

I have the Zumo 550 I wired it using a West Marine weather resistant cigarette lighter adapter. That is so much simpler than running the wire down to the battery.

As for the POIs what a waste to get the HD unit theres nice people out there that will do that work for free. Here is where I got mine from. Hasn't failed me yet.
