Speaker SPL Test

Speaker SPL Test
The plan:
Measure the Sound Pressure level of my '09 Ultra factory speakers at different volume levels.
Install Different speakers and measure SPL levels of them at the same volume levels and with the same sound track.
As you can see I have to much time on my hands.
Here are the speakers I will be using for now.
I also have the Boom Amp on order and will test it after it arrives.
More to follow later today and in the following days........
Factory Speaker Test
I used Born to be Wild for the test track, the Meter was at my ear level(30") over the seat, fader was in the middle, rear speakers on.
At 7 bars on the volume indicator or approx 50%, the peak levels were 93-94 dbl the average was 90 dbl.
At 12 bars on the volume, average was 101dbl with peaks at 106-107, any more volume and the distortion gets pretty nasty.
The level on the Iphone( I am using this to play MP3 through the AUX in on H-K Head unit) was approx 75% and was not changed.
Now I plan to install the Infinity speakers in the front and test again without changing anything else.......
Stay Tuned for more........ No pun intended
