Default Wheel Bearings

Just had my wifes RKing wheels chromed and need to replace the wheel bearings, Harley in Canada wants your first born and your left one for a bearing. Have also heard the HD (NBR) bearings aren't the best quality.
Having a hard time finding a part number for a good quality bearing like a Timken? anyone have any advice. Thanks

What year bike? Makes a difference if you're talking sealed bearings or not.

If you are not ready to give up your first born just yet, you could try Ebay - available in all sizes and types.

Zannydo, I dont know what yr. HD you have but I bought sealed bearing for
my 97 RK. But you know the best laid plans of mice and men, sold the 97.
I paid $150 for both (F&R)and would like to get half of my money back!

I agree with the 150 been there done that. I very seriously doubt you will find a timken or any other kind of replacement bearing. It is more than likely a captive part that was only made for HD.

I'd like some Timken part numbers for my '05................probably should replace them at some point.

Take your bearings to the nearest bearing supply outlet and they will match them up for you. Short of that, measure the dimensions ( ID, OD, width) with a caliper and order a set over the phone.

According to the bearing saleman for our company these are propritery bearings and he can't get them. I think they were like 30 bucks apiece at the local dealer. Jireh cycles has them for about six bucks a piece.
