Dealers down here are eager to trade and selling at MSRP on new bikes. However you can get them to throw in some pretty good free-bees. Guess when you live where you can ride 12 month a year things just get done a bid different. Lots of used bike in stock as well as new ones being sold every day. Only differance we see is you can make better deals now that the days of selling over MSRP have passed them by.

Well times are little harder nowadays. Lot of people are hording the money they have and others just don't have money period. I know in my neck of the woods back home there's a lot of people out of work from shut downs or layoffs. Everybody's squeezing dimes out of dollars. Now's the time to get a really good deal on a used bike if you were looking.

I was curious a couple of weeks ago and was looking at an Ultra Limited. For some reason I want one, I don't know why. Anyway my dealer said he would sell it to me for my bike and $5500.

nowadays, you could probably get more for that big bag on the rear then for your bike. most people want the 09/10 baggers, alot of great deals on 08 and earlier but most people selling 09/10 want more then what a dealer will sell you a brand new 2010 for, especially in the off season. its a buyers market

I'm just glad that my bike is paid for.
I'm afraid to take on any new debt. Like a lot off places we have had layoffs and if things don't improve we may see more.
It's not the time for me to buy no matter how good the deal is.

I don't know why you're bored with your bike, that's a good looking bike, and it's just a 08,barely broke in. Do a mod or two, like maybe put a fairing on it, and a tour pak. You'll think you have a new bike. Better than taking a beating on a trade.

Hey gunner, I'm not bored nor am I selling or trading (re-read my post) just wondering why so many fellow touring members have their bikes for sale and if THEY are bored, envious or just suffering in other ways. Although, the thought had crossed my mind a few months back if I should just get a fairing bike, rather than accessorize mine. But I thought that through and decided it was just a waste.

I hope this economic crap gets slowly better, lord knows my company has done it's share of cuts and cutbacks. If they stay healthy enough I'll be ok, I have seniority on my side. But standing in that dealer and noticing how quiet it was, and how the employees were just keeping busy was quite sobering. I feel for the little guy in these times, especially since I'm one of em......

PS, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Be safe on the roads and GO COWBOYS!!!!
