Getting closer and closer to making my purchase. Should have the funds in hand in the next week and then can get serious about making my purchase. One of the things I'd love to have is the chromed front end. What should I expect to pay for this? Am I better off getting this after the fact (say on e-bay?)

Also, is it common to negotiate the cost of the first service at the time of the purchase?

Ask your sales person.........labor rates vary and sometimes the dealer will discount parts for the first 30 days of ownership. Also cost depends on the model. It's a good investment.....chrome lowers always enhances a bike.

 

you won't find chrome front ends on E-Bay...all you will find is the stock front end folks have taken off for the chrome ones..
You can find out the price on the Harley Website, plus what ever the "stealer" tells you about how many hrs/labor it will take

Most 1st service maitenances are set prices, but vary from dealer to dealer.

 

You could get the chrome up front and finance it or have your stuff taken to a chromer once you have the time or cash. Most of the stuff you take off of a HD isn't worth much so you're often better off just using what you have.

 

About $600.00 is the damage material and labor.

 

I was quoted close to $1000.00 for the chrome front end. I said NO WAY

 

You can find chrome front ends on Ebay.. But sometimes the dealer will have a front end package you can get at the time of purchase, so be sure to ask, I've seen them in the high 400.00's

Thanks for the compliment and yes, it is a shaved HD front fender...

 

You can try and negotiate first service at time of purchase.

Be aware that some dealers already include it , so they could be "giving" you something that you would have received anyways.
