Thanks for all the opinions guys.. I appreciate the input. Call me silly, I just have a huge concern that the dealerships here are going to try and screw me when it comes to price. I don't really have an issue with traveling a few hours from here so that opens up the stealerships I can deal with. (Am located in Austin Tx)

The bike I'm looking at is the street glide. I may consider looking at the ultra since I'd really like my woman to ride with me and she has requested having a trunk with the wrap around backrest if she is going to join me. I've ridden the street glide, just need to schedule some time to rent an ultra and see how I feel about it.

Thanks again!

I guess it depends on what you're considering for the name "chrome front end." In my mind, a chrome front end would include chrome lower legs, chrome wheel and brake rotors and chrome brake calipers. You can add chrome mirrors, switch housings, and grips as parts of the chrome front end project.

As for me, I found a set of chrome lower legs on Ebay for about $150. There is a guy who takes the stock legs and rechrome them to Harley specs. So far, I'm pretty happy with the quality and workmanship. My next project will include floating rotors and chrome calipers.

Go by this custom shop and get a price on chroming your parts. Looks like they do a nice job...

By "chrome front end", is this what you are talking about?

I was talking to the local shop here that installed my bars and chrome controls. He said that he would change my lowers to chrome for $450.

I chromed out my front end, lowers, calipers, rotors. While i was researching, the cheapest way i found was through my local wrench and i exchanged my original parts through a chrome exchange company that my local wrench does business with. If you are toying with the idea of lowering the front end, now might be a good time also.
