I have a 09 Road King Classic with stock exhaust. I understand that HD made some improvement to the stock headers in 09 which may not make it necessary to purchase a complete exhaust system. I like the look of the V&H sloip on ovals.

Will I see a noticeable performance increase with a complete exhaust system vs slip on?

Is there a significant sound difference?

I left the stock headers when I put my Rinehart eagle beaks on my RKC. I did do the PCV and SEAC along with the slip ons from Fuel Moto. Great price and great improvement all the way around. I don't think you'll see much improvement with just the exhaust change and I didn't want to do just the exhaust without richening up the mixture a bit.

 

You'll want to do an air cleaner also.

 

from what i understand the 09 headpipe is a good piece and replacing it will only yield small gains for alot of dollars a good stg one and u should be good.
