Default harmon kardon stereo on 09 ultra
i would like to know if the stereo on my 2009 ultra recognizes an ipod as well as an mp3 player in the aux input.

Dont know about an Ipod, but A mp3 player should work.

Use a Itouch all the time. Sound is great. Graphics are a little small to change while riding. I use one all the time. GPS all works in Aux port.

I have the IPOD Nano generation 4 and it plugs into the aux port and works fine.

By reconizing if you mean the head unit knows what you're plugging in,the answer is no. The aux plug will play a audio signal out of the IPOD or MP3 player.
