Is there anything good about the 2010 Ultra?
I sold my 07' and am getting ready to buy a new 2010 Ultra Classic. I have been reading a lot on this, and other forums, that the catalytic converter on the 2010's causes all kinds of problems ie: excessive heat, head pipe damage, reduced HP, head damage, etc. Nobody, on any of the forums, has anything good to say about the 2010's.
I have two questions:
1. Why would the MoCo build such a piece of s**t, knowing that they are going to have lots of warranty problems and unhappy customers down the line?
The forums are full of fixes that all cost money. I should not have to go out, right off the bat, and spend $1000 to correct a problem with a brand new bike.
2. Does anybody own a 2010 that is happy with it and has not had any problems?

i own a 2010 streetglide put approx 4000 miles on so far had a 01 roadking. havent had an issue with the cat it runs great. heat hasn't been a problem even when riding in arizona a couple of weeks ago when it was 90' although I didn't spend alot of time running around town. love the abs brakes and it handles alot better with the new frame that was introduced in 09 no 5th gear whine or problems with detonation on the long uphills that I had noticed on previous year streetglides that I've rode in the past in az. was told the factory can run the motor a bit richer with fuel now with the cat than they had in the past and still meet epa standards..

Each year when a new model comes out the web is full of doom and gloom. Same with my '08 UC when I bought it. It did have a heat issue from the factory in order to meet EPA standards and I did end up dropping about $1k into it to get it the way I wanted it. But I didn't NEED to spend the bread, I WANTED to make the mods. But since then I have put over 11,000 trouble free miles on the bike. ( Around here that's a decent amount of miles in 17 months. I really miss living in Arizona! ! ! ! )
What FLHXKiller states makes sense so they should run a little cooler then stock.
Best thing I could tell you is rent one for a day and really ride the crap out of it. Nothing takes the place of a hands on test!

I have a 2010 Road King.
I have put about 8000 miles on it so far. Engine/exhaust are stock (for now) and heat has not been any issue at all.
I love this bike. No problems with it at all.
As far as paying money to make it right. It's a Harley and that's called your paying your Harley taxes.

I thought that was called customising! Everyone does it in differing degrees. It's easy to read the internet whiners, another thing to read the useful stuff.
