Was planning on selling my 07 FLTR and being bikeless until I stopped by the dealer and saw the 2010 FLTRX - WOW, what a great looking bike.

I've been to 4 Stealers in the DFW area and nobody wants to deal. I'll pay MSRP + shipping for a Vivid Black with ABS and just want a free D&D Fatcat 2:1 with a good price on my trade. Any ideas who I should talk to?

I have an approved credit app from HD in the system, too. Maybe I should wait until after Christmas?

Thanks for the tip, 1,100 miles one way seems a bit far to get free shipping and set-up. They do have a bike just the way I want it, though.

I wouldn't wait till after Christmas. December is the best month of the year to buy a bike, car or truck. People have Christmas on their mind and don't make a lot of big purchases so if they're gonna deal it's a good time....the salesmen working on commission need money for Christmas too.

Conversely I've been told by dealers snow could be up to the windows in January and it's amazing the number of bikes they sell. Also this year if you buy before December 31 you get the sales and excise tax deduction.....


The sales and excise tax deduction applies to motorcycles purchased between Feb. 17 and Dec. 31, 2009, with a GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) less than an 8,500 lbs., and costing less than $49,500.

 

So is that a federal tax benefit? That's something I was not aware of - Thanks!
