Default road king 1 piece handle bar clamp?

Is it possible to use a one piece handlebar clamp on a road king?
The road king has a cover over handlebar clamps. The chrome piece on nacelle.
I wish to maintain cover but use a one piece clamp to secure bars tighter.
I have done the coke can bit and inner tube thing between the clamp and bars over the years but i finally thought of getting the one piece clamp.
Dealer says it will not fit under the road king cover but you know how that goes.
1998 road king classic.

I have a plain HD chrome clamp on mine, but you may have to find new bolts with a flatter head or counter sink the holes in the clamp a little. My nacelle cover hits the bolts on the left side and rides about 1/16 of an inch higher than the right. Not much, but noticeable to me. Definitely firmer feel on the bars, though.

This is stated on the Wild1 handlebar site

" A one-piece top clamp works with the stock risers and fits under the top cover of a
Road King. Harley part #55918-08 works fine and costs about $38.00 from your local
HD Dealership."

Have the 1-piece cover on my RK. You might want to change the handlebar busings while you're in there.

You might try the 56170-83TA handlebar clamp and an HD cover for street-slammer bars (55854-07) to replace the standard cover.
