I vote for the RKC. It is certainly a great riding bike. Short or long runs.

I'm biased too. (hey you're in the touring section). I struggled with the same question this year. I wound up with a RK, and it was the right decision for me. The touring bikes are surprisingly agile, especially the RK. They have a similar look, and in fact most non riders wouldn't even be able to tell one from the other. Only problem is that the touring bikes will ruin you for life. I'll add a bar hopper some day, but I will never be without a touring-framed bike.

No doubt about it, Road King Classic. IMO it's more versatile and a better ride.

That's why I've got one

Road King Classic all the way. Plus those damn rivets all over the Heritage are just plain ugly IMO.

I was torn between the RoadKing and the Heritage myself.
The lockable cases and the crash bars are what talked me into the RoadKing.

IMO the first thing you need to do is test ride them both, alone and with a passanger. You'll be able to tell whats right for you. You won't have any problems around town with the Road King, Handles great. But RIDE BOTH

I had the same dillema and when I went back to the dealership for my final visit it was an easy decision. I didnt like the color of the heritage they had in the show room, so I left with a RK classic and I"M LOV'IN IT . I also know a few couples that ride up and down the eastern seaboard on a heritage. Maybe the choice will be made for you like it was for me...keep your mind open

I had the heritage, it's a nice bike, I quickly found out how limited I was with the bike. I could not add a back rest w/o changing the seat. Their is only one rotor braking system. The suspension. Plus their are alot more add ons for the touring models. The RKC is an excellent bike. I traded the heritage for the electra glide standard. Now I got the ultra. Just my .02

Most good Harley dealerships will rent bikes, I suggest you make arrangements to rent a bike for two days and at the end of the first day switch bikes. Put your wife/girl friend on the back of both bikes.

But I know what her answer will be!!!

It Good to Be The King!!!!!

And if the King isn't good enough, do like I did. Just add it. That's the great thing about the ROAD KING, It's a Convertible.

Yep, both great bikes & the RKC will be my 2nd bike. As posted above somewhere, plusses & minuses to both. As far as lean angles, come on....Floorboards are meant to scrape! LOL....Both great bikes. I'm sure the RKC probably is a better ride on the long hauls 2-up but around town I just can't really see it but hey, I don't own one yet so what do I know. I do however know it will be my next bike.
Ride em both & then decide. Both nice bikes! Good luck.
