Buy what you want. Cant go wrong with either. It's just a matter of taste.

But, whatever you do, don't walk in there and buy one of those fugly road glides because the owner says it's the best thing since peanut butter.

I pick the RKC over the SG. I'm loving it.

Traded in my 04 Road King for my 09 SG. Personally I like the SG better but you really can't go wrong with either ride.

Without displaying my bias towards a Road King, If you buy a road king and you really have a desire for a batwing, buy a Hoppe, dead center or scorpion fairing. Now you have the best of both worlds. The fairings aren't cheap though.

After test riding both machines and the opinions of my wife and kids, it all came down to the Road King. Take your time and test ride them both if you can. I think the King has a little more flexability. Good Luck

Adding a king tour pack over the winter for my wife's comfort and also the wider floor boards.
Actually, you didn't ride all the touring bikes, did Ya?

Road Kings are great bikes. If I had the bread for three Harley's, I'd own a Road King too.
That said, if I had to pick just one Harley in the garage I'd pick one with a fairing.
You'll hear folks on here telling you this one or that one, I love my Road King, I love my Street Glide.
What your not likely to hear, are from people that had a Road King , then a Street Glide and want the Road King back.
If you do, it will be the exception, not the rule.
Lots buy the Road King, then trade up later. You have an opportunity here.
Buy the SG.

Road King the way to go, you can up fit it to make it a SG and if you want a change you can always go back.
