Have the cam chain tensioner shoes been replaced? If not, it would probably be a good idea to replace them.

Some people call it a Geezer Glide.

If it's had all of that, it should be good to go!
I have a 2002 Ultra and have had 0 problems with it. Don't ever plan to part with it!

Send the seat to Mean City Cycles for a customization. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/mean-city-cycles-94/

Maybe some street glide shocks too.

I have an 02 EGC with 45K miles. In light of how long my chain tensioner lasted, I'd at least pull off the cover & examine the chain tensioner. I replaced mine @ 30K & 42K, & I think the new design should last longer than 12K miles.
Does your 02 have the 88 engine or was it upgraded to a 95"? At 42K, I had a lifter go bad & as I pulled things apart, found that the old INA cam bearings were still in place, so I replaced them with Torringtons. If you want to go "that deep" into the side of the engine, you might want to consider that. If you do, add a "Latus spring" [It's actually made by Baisley High Performance in Portland, OR] on the oil pump to get better pressure at idle when warm.
The bottom line is that I'm [I]really happy[I] with my '02, & think you will be, too. If the price is right, you'll get a lot of value for the money.

the guy that works on my 03 swears up and down that 02 was the last "good" year for HD, and based on all the engineering flaws, bad designs, etc etc etc that I have seen since I joined this forum back about 4 years ago I'd have to agree.
