Default Air Wing Saddlebag Lid Guards

Anyone installed these yet, with the light kit? I noticed them in the new catalog I got last week, they look pretty cool. I like the idea of it matching the Tour Pak rack, and the extra lights can't hurt either, but I'm worried about the wiring.

The instructions show the wire to be run on the inside of the saddlebag. I'm just wondering how secure the wire is, and how easy it would be to jerk it loose while rooting aroung in the saddlebag.

Default I Installed the non-rail ones a while back, piece of cake

I installed the led spoilers (color matched) but the principles are the same.

Make sure to use the press on clips to secure the wire with enough slack so that when you open the lid, it doesn't put any pressure on the wire where it exits the bag lid.

Also install them with at least 2 feet of extra wire so you can take off the saddlebags without having to take off the seat and set them down next to the bike when cleaning. You can gently pull the slack through the hole in the bag, coil it, twist tie the coil, then secure to a clip. When you put your bag liners in they cover the wire and keep it from getting in the way. Don't stash them under the bag or heavy items could abrade them over time.

I took off my tourpak so I just coiled my spare wire under the seat where the connectors are.

Oh, and don't overtorque the screws.

hmmm..

If it were me --- and it may be in the future.

I'd put a 9 Volt battery in the saddlebag lid an an inertia switch--- so they come on when you slow suddenly...kinda like a brake light without the wiring.

I could wire to a socket on the bags and plug on the bike but maybe a battery would be nifty
