What year Street Glide to buy ??

I'm looking at buying an 08 SG. I was told by a dealer that the 08 and earlier models are losing value faster than normal because of the 09 frame change. I realize he is just trying to get me to buy new because he has 08 SG's on the floor for $18,500, but with this knowledge of the new frame, you can use it to your benefit to negotiate with a private seller. I drove both and 08 & 09 SG at demo days and couldn't really tell the difference.

I buy and sell a fair amount of bikes and can tell you that there are some SCREAMIN deals out there right now. I have purchased two StreetGlides in the past month or so with one being an 08 and the other a 09. I did not have $30,000 into both bikes and the came with warranties!
Look around out there and take your time. You can just about steal a bike right now if you have the funds.

If you like the SG for it's low look an '06-'08 is the way to go. The '09-'10 chassis sits visibly taller than previous frames. I've ridden several '09's and I won't trade my '06 because I don't see enough difference in handling to justify starting all over. I think though that if I wanted a long distance bike for mostly two up I'd go for an Electra Glide Classic. I've got one of each and the EGC is much more plush than my SG even though it's a '95 model.

The 09 and 10 model year. They have the new frame that's an incrdable difference in handling as well as a cleaner rear fender and the six gallon tank.
By the way, those of us that bought the bagger and kept the solo for local...........it never gets used. The bagger is so comfortable and easy to ride (easier than anybody would ever think) that it just quickly becomes the preferred ride.
I've had an both earlier and the newer.

I figured the solo is going to get very little use after a short while.
