Default A few Street Glide fascia questions

I have the parts list and have read several threads on the subject. My question is what parts do I not need to order if I am applying the fascia with adhesive tape instead of drilling into the fender. The idea of doing that does not sit well wit me. I am asuming that all I need is...

Fascia assembly
Light of my choice (run or run/brake)
Screws for the light
Self adhesive conduit
Grommets for the two holes (I am adding a detachable tour pak)

Did I leave anything out???? And what particular brand of adhesive tape would work best for this application

Also does anyone know for sure if the 2008 Street Glide Anniversary Copper fascia is VIN restricted or not.

antenna bracket

i went to home depot and bought the 3m outdoor "super duty" tape.. 2500 miles and no issues..

edit, just noticed your running tourpak, not sure how that changes antenna issues.

I don't use an antenna but I'm running the antenna into the tour pak with the light harness.

So those are all of the parts I need then??

And anyone have an answer about the VIN restriction???

I've got the same piece waiting in in the garage getting ready to paint along with the SERG bag extensions. I tried it on just to see. I'm going to install it with tape as well.

You do not need the bracket. Then again that wasn't a problem for you anyhow.

It's no longer an restricted VIN. I just got it right from MOCO a month ago. No issues. Same with the bag extensions.

The light on the 08's for the fascia is not a park/brake light combo. Just running light as far as I know. I think it might be on the 10's as they have eliminated the tail light on them. It's a different wiring set up.

If you running it with the lighted tour pack, you may need a splitter as there is only one plug in for the touring pack. There is a picture of one that someone had made here on the forums. It's not an item I believe that you can buy from MOCO. The light comes with the screw to secure it to the fascia.

The "upgraded" light is the same for all 09 and older. Tinted run/brake. Stay away from the 2010 model light as they have completely different wiring.

Your list looks good to go. After reading thru other threads I ended up with many items I didnt need and ended up installing exactly what you listed.

59790-06, Ground Effects Support. It's what the tab on the bottom of the fascia snaps in to IIRC (it's been a couple of years, but that part is shown on the parts pages for the '06 SG.

Good luck with your project.

I put the brake light on my 08 SG, it lasted less than a year.

More bang for the buck, with one of these tail lights you don't need anything else. Took me less than 10 minutes to change mine and I have no talent with a screwdriver; straight swap, no additional wires/modules.
