HD Solo Detach TP Rack Mod for Corbin Classic Solo
I recently put a Corbin Classic Solo on my bike and, according to Corbin's website, the HD solo detachable tour pak rack won't work with this seat--Corbin's right. The forward part of the rack hits the seat skirt (that covers the mounting hardware). (NOTE: The fitment information is for '97-08 bikes; don't know about '09 and newer fitment.)
Took the Mutazu tour pak off the rack; took the rack to a friendly tech at my local HD store; showed him where to cut; and, he cut off the offending metal. Here's a pic of the "modified" rack:

A cross brace will be added using the forward mounting holes for attachment. I doubt the cross brace is needed given the light weight of the Mutazu and my useage.
Here're a couple of pictures of the Mutazu on the rack and bike:

And a final shot of the bike:

The Mutazu is seldom on the bike and sits in the garage with the King tour pak that is on a two-up detachable rack, but it's great because of its light weight to throw on the bike for running errands--much easier than the King, and is good for solo trips, as well.
The spoiler on the lid has a bright LED in it; cost only $35; and, was money well spent. The only mod I made was to add a connector to make the quick disconnect connector compatible with the tour pak wiring harness connector on the bike.
For old times sake, here's a picture of my bike (in its original birch white) in July '05 waiting on a buddy at a convenience store prior to departing North Atlanta for Toronto:

Bikes, the two-tone blue POSE is one of my favorite color combos; a good friend has an '03 that looks brand new.
Not sure what your post means other than a Mustang seat will accept a solo detach rack. I don't know of any solo seats that don't accept the solo rack. The Corbin Classic Solo is the only one I know of that requires modification to work with the solo rack, but there may be others.
As for the modification to accommodate the Corbin Classic Solo, it's just one of the compromises on HD's. The skirt that necessitates the rack modification also provides the lock mechanism to secure the seat to the bike; provides a mounting point that also locks a passenger pillion on the bike; and cosmetically conceals the bracket/nuts that are visible on other solo seats. I don't know of any other solo seat/passenger pillion products that provide that security.
