Got Stop by Officer.

RE: Got Stop by Officer.
As a retired LEO I can tell you from my prospective, on every traffic stop two thing were possible. 1st if the offense was bad enough (reckless, DUI, way over speed limit, etc.) then I was going to write a citation (or arrest) regardless or 2nd on lesser violations (10 mph over, lane control, in attention, etc.) I had not decided between citation, warning or verbal. SO the driver was ether going to get a citation (bad offense) or talk their way into or out of one. The worst thing you could do was to get personal or lie to the officer. Remember via records check, the officer already knows a lot about you and your driving record before approching your vehicle.

Derek,
Absolutely. One LEO 'flashing' another to get a break only digs his hole a little deeper with me. A good cop shouldn't ever ask another to compromise his morals.
The last time I was pulled over for speeding I apologized to the officer in front of my two kid's. He gave me a warning and thanked me for my good attitude. My boys were amazed with what happened and they learned a valuable lesson that day.

truth be told fellas i live in the boondocks, and before i bought the geezer glide i have now. I had a sportster with 105rwhp 98ftlbs tq i stopped for one officer in my time and only because i don't act foolish with passengers. but the rest of the time i was all on my own and i carve these hills around here so smooth that i was approached in town and asked to just stop next time the locals got after me.... I knew all of them personally but i would have got some reemin for the speeds i was runnin

What? That's crap. Professional courtesy was always a given for me, unless you did something so stupid that I had to pinch you for something. It came with the job and I expected it just like I gave it... Wasn't like I didn't give an equal number of breaks to other folks I stopped that seemed like they deserved. In my book all fellow officers deserved and received it... .

I probably give breaks to 40% of the people I stop. Why is it wrong, if I give a break to a fellow LEO? Unless you put me in a position where I have not choice (DUI, reckless, or something equally stupid), drive on brother, and be safe.
Of course, they don't teach them that in Richardson County Nebraska, where I got tuned up in March. But....>sigh< I did deserve it. 16 over, uphill....lol.
