Got Stop by Officer.

I was out riding yesterday and decided to stop at church to chit chat with my friend/pastor on my way home. As I turned onto the country road a HP officer coming from the other direction turned in behind me. I thought this a bit suspicious so as soon as I had an opportunity I motioned for him to pull over and he did so. I thanked him for stopping and asked him a couple generic driving questions. He was a really nice guy. I got to my church and mentioned it to my pastor who said there are a couple HP officers that attend our church.
I have watched so many movies portraying LEO's as corrupt, last night a great movie called Cop Land. Sometimes it is hard to overcome the bad feelings you get from such movies coupled with bad personal experiences where you felt you could have been given a break but did not. Any time I got pulled over I have always been courteous and polite but never got a break. Guess I need a sticker on my vehicles and bike that says I support LEO's....... To the good ones thank you and you have my utmost respect!!!! There is one LEO on here who is a real A hole. His user name ID's him and I will leave it at that. I tried to make peace with hin in a PM but he continues to show his true colors.

Wow! Is this an old thread or what? Fun reading though. I'll relate my story.
Late afternoon, about 1/2 mile from home, riding my 1980 850 Yamaha. I'm going up a hill, 55 mph zone. Wasn't paying attention to my speed since no other cars on the road. I was gong through a tough time in my life trying to decide if my marriage should be over (I wound up getting a divorce and eventually found the love of my life AND got my first Harley... all's good, but that's another story!).
We'll the cop flashes his lights and pulls me over. Says, "didn't you see me back there? Do you know how fast you were going?"
I said no, didn't see him. He then tells me that I was doing 85 in a 55 mph. In my mind I say "Sh*t". I told him the truth. Wasn't paying attention to my speed, no other cars on the road, so it just didn't jump out that I was going so fast. I told him that I was preoccupied with my impending divorce and was going home to face that decision. I think maybe he took pity on me, checked my driving record - no tickets in over 20 years - and wrote me a warning. Man, I was soooo happy!
Oh, just a side note. A year later, was driving 65 in a 55 out in the country. Got pulled over from a cop going the opposite direction. Found out that they keep those warnings on record. He checked, said I'd had a warning in the past 2 years and wrote me a ticket.
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Sorry, sure wasn't bragging! I was relieved I didn't get ticketed and paid a lot more attention to my driveing after that... didn't let myself get so distracted. The 55 mph zone is on a bypass circle around the town, so, no, it wasn't residential yet.
Didn't know my story came across in the way you took it.
