Default alarm/security system install rehash

Just picked up a new carbureted Electra Glide Standard. Seeing that they still use the keying system that you can open with a bic pen, I would like to install the factory alarm. I read the earlier posts and questioned the parts guy. He said it was a simple plug in and go. Is this true for a carbureted model? Thanks for any insight in advance.

Yes, it should be. It has nothing to do with the EFI or Carb, it disables the ignition. Mine came stock, and looking at my service manual, it looks like you just plug it into some cables that aren't being used on your bike yet.

Take off seat and side covers, unplug a fuse, plug it into provided connector, tighten a few bolts, replace covers and your good to go. About 30 minutes from start to finish. And that's from a guy with virtually no wrenching experience. Just follow directions and you'll have no problems.
