Default Harley Warranty ?

Got a buddy who dropped off a 06 Street Glide to get a starter replaced, they want to charge him to remove lower fairing and any chrome to get to the primary, I think it should be covered in that part failure, does the langauge in the Harley warranty coverage say that it does not include add on part? What are you guys experiencing out there on this.

He is out of manufacturer's warranty period and into the extended warranty so look at that and see how it's worded.

Your right, it is on extended coverage and was asked if he wanted to renew it again since it runs out in 2 weeks.
I told him to check it out tonight and see how it is worded. wanted to see if anyone has gone thru that with thier dealer.

I have a friend with Road King with every add-on Harley makes. I curse every time he brings his bike to my shop. Add-ons add extra time to the job

Heck I'd tell em sure I'll renew if they put it writing that they won't keep charging me to take off parts that are necessary to do warranty work.

They can't do it man, not under warranty, can't hand over parts not knowing if they were installed by an authorized installer. I know you would do a fine job but they have procedures that they follow.

Why do they want to pull off the lower fairing just to get to the primary? That's my question?

One of our local stealers charged an extra 1.5 hrs tp remove and replace axle nut covers and a side mounted license plate when changin out tires on my wife's bike - that's the last time her bike has been there for service!
