2009 Engine temp question.

Mine also often kicks in during city riding (stop light to stop light), even with cool outside temps.

Mine (RK09, stock conf., EIMTS on) reached 320*F last summer here in Madrid (Spain) when +100*F ambient in heavy traffic in the city. During a long idle period that summer it reached 350*F.

I've decided to remove the cat, add oil cooler and remap to enrichen the mix. Ask me next summer if all these worked :-)

So 230F in the oil pan means 285F in the heads. That's good to know. Thanks.

I learned something new today (rear cylinder shut down is triggered by the front cylinder head heat, not oil temp). This forum is great.
