Default Help with Lowering a SG

My husband just bought a 2010 SG, he lowered my RKC with 12" Progressive shocks, but I believe the SG already has 12" shocks, the newer frame style makes the bike sit alot taller than mine, Progressive's web site only shows 11.5" for the shortest shocks available, does any one make an 11" shock? any one have any good ideas on how to lower it an inch? I was never fond of the air adjustable shocks and really like the ride of the progressives, he didn't want to put the lowering blocks on my bike because too many people said it affected the ride quality when you changed the shock geometry so I don't think he wants to go that route.

any suggestions on which ones look good on a SG, he doesn't want the puffy passenger pad, since we each ride our own bikes, he takes our daughter on short rides but thats about it for passenger time.

I put lowering blocks on my wife's '09 SG and brought it down 1" plus added a Mustang solo seat (much narrower nose and a bit lower than the OEM seat). No noticeable difference in ride quality and gets her completely flat-footed (she's 5'5"). In the end, lowering blocks are <$50, so it can be a pretty easy & cheap "experiment". They go on in <30-minutes and can be taken off if you don't like the outcome....and you're out very little $$.

KKarey, any advice on which brands to go with or stay away from?
SMSgt B I tried the reach seat on my bike before he put the new shocks on it and really didn't care for the looks or the feel of it, I know he likes the look of the stock seat and how it flows into the rear fender. but thanks for the link.

You might try the front end. Loosen the pinch bolts on the trees and slide the forks up an inch. If this makes a difference you can get progressive springs to lower the front. Just a thought
