Default Tall boy seat

I put on a Corbin dual tour this year and really love it, it basically eliminated my lower back pain, however it feels like it may have lowered my seat height. To make a long story short my knees kill me on this bike and I think the seat made it a little worse. I am 6-2 and feel very cramped on my bike, I have extended the floor board forward and moved them out 3/4" on each side, I have also added the e-z brake and e-z shift for more room but my knees still hurt. I noticed the Tall boy seat in the h.d. catalog and wonder if anyone has used one and if it helped. Anyone know how far it moves you and in which direction? Also does it give better support than the stock seat? The stock seat on my R.K. was junk. Any info or advice would be appreciated greatly.

You know I was look at the tallboy also, fo a two up seat. I use the Corbin Hollywood solo when I do the solo ride. Good topic to start, I just read the it adds about 1 1/2 inches more room. Is that enough?

Hey Demo, 6'3" and the Sundowner works well for me with backrest/cruiseboards. Decent looking seat, great support, and NO cramped legs.

I really wish I knew how my corbin seat compares to like a sundowner as far as seating position is concerned. The odd thing is that my knees never bother me, except when riding this bike, and it never happened on any of the bike I had which used forward controls vs. floor boards. The only other issue is firmness, I like the firmness of my Corbin, and am not sure if the H.D. seats are firm at all or too soft like the stock.

I bought a sundowner seat and I felt that I was riding the tank versus riding in the seat. The Tall boy will raise you up about 1.5 inches and move you back about .5 inches. It has been suggested that RK seat be replaced with the Road Glide seat.

I am investigating this, but I do not have a part number. Others have suggested the sidekicker seat, but it may not suit you if you are looking for something with a lot of padding. A custom seat may be the answer?

Hi mndemohead: I have a 06 Ultra, and rode that stock seat for awhile, however being taller at 6'4" with a set of knees that are rebeling from years of abuse ie: work, hockey and horses, it wasn't long before everything was sore.
I went to a custom upholestry shop, that specialises in motorcycle seats and had them alter the stock seat, moving me up 1 3/4". back about 1". and about 2" wider. There are some wonderful Gel and better grade of Foam aftermarket options out there to add to the seat, plus the fact that they can mould and shape the alterations to fit the individual. It made all the difference to enjoying the ride, no more sore knees and back and in fact I seem to feel the bike better, so handling is a dream now. In the end it ended up a just few more dollars than the Tall Boy option, however for me it's now a much better seat for those long rides. Oh yes, had them add Gel & extra Foam under the pillion and shaped it for my wife. Big smiles from her. Never changed controls or floorboards from stock.

Maybe I will need to consider a custom seat, now just to fine a shop that can do such a thing, Where do I begin looking? Im in Minnesota so if anyone knows of any shop in the twin cities area drop me a line.

I have the TallBoy on my 05 Ultra. At 6'2" I think it helped - although not as much as I hoped. With it saying it moves you up 1.5 inches - never AT ALL noticed this. However, I did feel it moved me back a bit. As well, the seat is not at all firm - I'm wondering how long the foam will last. I also agree - think it best to have the seat formed for you. I had a Gel pad installed in the stock seat - still did not like it. Now, I think I'll try putting that Gel pad in my Tallboy. Good luck.

Hey Bountyhunter,
I'm 6'5 and about 285. I like the looks of your floorboard and highway pegs. Did you move your floorboards forward? I think I need to. Would you please post where you bought your floorboards, highway pegs and backrest please and the model numbers.
I have a 1999 Ultra Classic. Is your backrest adjustable? Did you do anything (because of being tall) to the the otherside? The shift leaver and or boards? I have the heal and toe shifter and it is a little too far back for me so far.
Thanks in advance
Dixie
