Default High Idle After Installing PC-V

Has anyone have their bike idle high after installing a PC-V? Or is it something else causing the bike to idle high. When stopping it idles at 2000 rpm or so. I have a 08 Street Glide with ABS.

Did you reset the throttle position?

When I got mine from Fuel Moto I went from 800 RPM to 1000, but 2000 is too high, needs to be adjusted.

Good luck with it, Be Safe JIM

Mine tends to also. It takes a while to warm up and drop down. If you hit the start switch immedietely after turning on your ignition, it tends to stay at low idle, so that's what I do now. Jaime at Fuel Moto told me on my 09 that you didn't have to zero in throttle position.

I had a similar problem with my '08 and it had nothing to do with the PCV. I was inadvertantly cracking the throttle whenever I turned off the ignition (because I'm left handed?). For whatever reason the ECM/TBW gets confused when you do this. I cycled the switch four times to reset all the electronics and the problem went away. After doing this a few times I learned to keep my hand off the throttle whenever I shut off the engine.

What Tater said. I had the same problem and thought the PC was at fault. Far more likely you bumped the throttle.

+1 for Tater. While at Sturgis this year I had to take my bike in to Black Hills H-D because it was ideling around 2000 RPM.

They told me if the RPM is up when you hit the kill switch, it will stay there untill you reset it.

I have to do the reset once in a while. Is there an ECM firmware upgrade that fixes this?
