Welcome to the forum and thank you for being such a good trooper. Your question was very legit and you took ALL of the answers given and handle them well. I still sometimes wonder why so many have to comment negatively. You can tell the funny scarcastic responses (good ones) with the ones that are just azz wipes.

Dunno what that is. I think it's similar to these cone-shaped thingy's on the side of my bike.

Dam,I thought it was a engine mount wear indicator,the looser the mount the more that thingy shook.I stand corrected.

On a somewhat related note...hijacking here...I LOVE that yellow/white combo. Almost bought one with brown leather seat and bags...but found the Silver and went that route...NOW, back to the topic at hand...

Cowbell...and now that I've got the Howard's Hog Horns on mine that's where the air compressor for the horns goes.

Okay, so I remember after riding my Honda thousands of miles with my dad i asked him what that thing was. With a look that seemed to take all my manhood he told me it was the horn.

Don't listen to any of these guys...

That's where REAL bikers hide their pot! When the K-9 unit comes sniffin you simply press your horn button and they go around it!
