You were looking at the other option. The one you want (just the ring gear and chain) is cheaper:
EV:1010-1211 Sprocket and Ring Gear Set 49 Tooth. Fits 2006 Dyna and 2007and Later Softail and Dyna. Includes Custom Primary Chain.
List Price 482.54

They sold me, one for that price also.

Default Misinformation on here

Thread starts with EVO 49 tooth primary gear, goes to 30 tooth compensator gear, then off to a starter ring gear.

ED: IMHO go with EVO 49 tooth keep your compensator. This has been done successfully for years. The 2.97 final gear iyou get s a good compromise to the 07-08 weak gearing. The install does require getting the rivets out and countersinking new bolts

If the 30 tooth no compensator is so good why did harley ever put a compensator on there in the first place? Also everyone raves about the new SE compensator upgrade. Claims it cures starter clunk, vibration, easier to find nuetral, and possibly the cures the common cold. (joke son, just a joke.

Why do we want to go back to the old 5 speed gear if you EVER hit the highway for more than a 100 miles.

It's a harley not a crotch rocket

I played with the calculator at the Big Boys site and it seems that this 49 tooth gear will fit my riding style perfectly.
I ordered one today.

Thanks for the helpful info!

The 49T makes the whole gear box more user friendly and 2.97 is a great compromise in sixth gear. A stock or relatively stock 96" motor doesn't put out much horsepower at
2500 rpms in 6th.

Already have my 49T.

Amazing how fast that was shipped! LOL

Now all I need is my tensioner to arrive from SOHB and I can go to work.

Did you order direct from EVO or did you have to go through a dealer? I can't see a place to order from EVO's website.
