I have an 03 Road King Classic which is the 100th annivesary two tone Silver & Black. I found a set of two tone hard bags to match which I prefer instead of the leather bags. I put vivid black side covers on instead of the silver keeping with the two tone scheme and I sort of like it.
My question is...used Vivid Black lower fairings are pretty easy to come by and the Sterling Silver are like just not available and I ain't gonna spend $1,300.00 on a set anyway. Do you think it would look decent if I went with Vivid Black lowers? A lot of $$'s to spend to find out it looks like crap. I'm leaning towards it might be cool.

 

I think vivid black lowers will look good - but if ya don't like em ya can always resell em - sounds like a no brainer - by the way your ride is looking nice

 

I'd say stick with the theme. That's one of the best color schemes Harley's ever had. Just looking at your bike, I'd say it would look better two-tone. If the front fender had more black, or was black on the sides, maybe. There are a lot of that color combo, so if you're not in a hurry, I'd bet you can find a good used set.

They lowers don't come two-tone. It's either all black or all silver. That's my problem is finding a set in all Sterling Silver used in 03 only.

I think the black would look fine. You're not keeping them on during the summer, right? If it's only seasonal the black would look nice. I do think that 2-tone on your bike would kill though.
