I bought the Euro - Spec headlight plate from Zanotti's for $180 Canadian. The Euro-spec throws out more than 50% more light due to the way the reflectors are cut. It came complete. Plate, Bulbs, total plug-in-play. It even had the 3rd light (tiny bulb) that they have to use in Europe, but I removed it. didn't fit with the bezel.

Not saying the 3M idea is a good idea, but I'd do the Euro over (@ $180) and over again before I'd ever put out $500 (if that's even the case) for the crap that the factory came with.

If you guys want, I can probably find the part # from there on my other computer. I have to ride in the dark a lot more than all of you due to being so far north. One of the other forum members (Beemervet) here turned me on to this and I can't thank him enough.
the euro headlight for right hand lanes (as for U.S. driving) has been discontinued. the left hand style is still available but very illegal plus light would shine right into on-coming traffic. bummer.

My original 04 Road Glide headlights had a reflector different than the replacement units installed during the crash repair. (A deer ran into my path).

The original 04 lens were plastic, much to my surprise after examining them just now. I had assumed they were glass.

The new headlights are the same ones, (reflector pattern), as the brand new Road Glides. I do not know if these are plastic or glass. The lens even has the H-D emblem in them.

I find this thread very interesting,

The local dealer has a 10 RG on the floor. I tapped the headlights and they almost feel like glass. I haven't had the cover off of mine yet to see what the 09 and earlier headlights feel like. But I am assuming they are a lighter plastic.

And here are some part numbers from the 09 SERG:
These are just for the lamp housings
73242-09 Bulb assembly hardened $72.98 each
73243-09 Bulb assembly hardened (HDI, England, Japan) $47.35 each

These are for the whole headlight assembly
69986-09 Headlight assembly $214
73244-09 Headlight assembly left dip $243

Pretty weird how the Euro lamp assemblies are way cheaper than the domestic ones.

How long ago Sparky. I just got these last year from Zanotti's.

Part # 68995-01

134.08 + tax and shipping = $175.08 Canadian.

Bought June 5 2008

Righthand international

Try Contacting John from Zanotti's and see for sure.

I've tried running the part number on every site and nothing comes up. Just been over the last few months that it disappeared.

I just tried John at Zanotti's and the 68995-01 has been replaced by 70423-98 and 73244-09. Those are the CVO headlamps and bezel cover. The entire thing is less than $200. The japanese bezel is available but that is for left hand drive.....so WTF???
