If you plan on riding solo why would you want to change the seat? Most folks I know think it is one of the best around.

If you are looking at bikes with ABS, the earlier models had the unit mounted inside one of the bags. The '08 and later have it mounted somewhere else.

I also have been debating buying a new 2010 flhtp one. but seems like a expensive pain in the a$$ to convert the handlebar switches with stereo controls.$288 for the interconnect harness, about $260 for the right switches with cruise and the left side you have to buy each switch ,housing ,harness seperately, be nice if hd still made the standard flht

Check-out the HD Intercom Kit in the P&A catalog or HD website that lists for $85 or so. It includes the left hand switches/harness and housings.

I've had '07 and '09 FLHTP's. The 103 engine is worth it. The air solo seat as well. Great bikes ... just, please, don't spread it arround!!

Great site ... www.retiredpolicebikes.com

Best deal on used HD's hands down. I bought my 07 this year because of the 103/six speed, and because of the ABS. It's been several months, and I'm happy to report, no trouble at all.

I've done the stage I treatment with a SE a/c, supertrapp SE's and a fuelpak. The bike runs flawlessly with that simple update. I'm going to swap cams this winter, and am going to se-255's.

I couldn't live with the air ride seat. It sat me way too close and way too high. (nevermind how fugly they are) I sold it on ebay and bought a new Corbin solo. I can live with the saddlebags, but prefer not to. I bought a set of used saddlebags from craigslist, and will be using those after I've modified the right side bag to accomodate the ABS unit.

I also added lowers and just bought a used dragonfly fairing from ebay. Those two things together came to about 1k, but I can recover that cost anytime without selling the bike.

I'd certainly recommend the ex-police bikes. They're built like tanks, and you just need to do a good pre-purchase inspection. (that goes for any used HD though)
