center stand
Does anyone know of a center stand that can be operated while a passenger on on the bike? I have a bad back and it is extremely painful to hold the bike up straight while wife climbs up and even worse when she gets off the bike. I like the wheeldock, but it states not to place on the stand with passenger on bike.

I have a wheeldock center stand and a disabled wife. Put it on the center stand, get her on let her get set before I get on and just drive off. Getting off put it on the side stand after getting her off the bike (and into a wheelchair) just put the bike back on the center stand so we are ready to go. Does take more time and have to watch where I stop and park but without it she would not be able to ride.

Well i have a ultra classic with what i believe is called a " HD Display or Show Stand " Love it . I can drive off of it and put it back on the stand with my lady and me still on the bike. I went to the HD site but can not find it. I could take a picture of it and look for a part number if you are interested. Here is a link and part number 99002-97a

Mounting the parked bike with two people then riding off the Wheeldock while 2-up is no problem, I do it all the time. The other way round is difficult because you have to hold the bike PERFECTLY vertical, balance all the weight and reach back with one leg (while keeping balanced on the other foot) and try to leverage the bike and passenger up onto the stand. Instead, I just steady the bike, let her get off and then put it on the stand. If you need to assist your passenger, you might want to use the jiffy stand first or -- I hate to say it -- consider a trike.
