07 OR O6 QUESTION
Need some help: I have a deposit on a 07 Road King Classic at MSRP with free 1000 mile service. (This dealer is all out of 06's)
Another local dealer has several 06 Road King Classic's @ $1,000.00 below MSRP with NO free 1000 mile service ($275.00 cost at this dealer)
Question is should I hold off a play waiting game another 10 days until 2007 info is out? or does anyone have any real info on the 07 touring models (6 speed or larger motor)
Thanks:

RE: 07 OR O6 QUESTION
Depends...only a handful of people on the planet can say for sure what the changes will be for '07, but it's a pretty safe bet that the new baggers will have the 6-speed tranny. If you want the bullet-proof reliability of the straight-cut gears in the current 5-speed, buy the '06 now. If the 6-speed, or any other changes might intrigue you, it's only about 2 to 3 weeks 'till the new ones are available...and even after that, some dealers will still have a few '06's left if you don't like what you see on the new bikes.

RE: 07 OR O6 QUESTION
Wait the 10 days. When the information is released regarding the 2007 on July 14th, 2006, then you can make your final decision.
If changes are minor to the 2007, than pull your depo and go p/u that 2006.
But, lets say the 2007 come with one of either (speculated) 6 speed or 95", than go with the 2007 or maybe the dealer w/ the 06's will drop his price further????
LOL, Have fun waiting...
BTW one of my friends is playing the same waiting game.........

RE: 07 OR O6 QUESTION
I had a similar dilemma last year. I couldn’t wait so I went with the 05. Glad I did! If you can wait, I would just to see what the difference will be. If it’s a lot the 06‘s left will drop in price. I’d guess they may go with the 6 speed but not a bigger motor. It’s all about dealer revenue. No way are they going to stop selling big bore and I doubt they’ll add the 6 speed for a few more years. Probably all you’ll get with an 07 is EPA restrictions

I have not seen anything on this forum yet, but i have the booklet. Everything but the Vrod and Sportsters will have 96" engines stock.

In addition to the upgraded engine and tranny, there are significant updates to the baggers - and most of these have already been field tested for the past year in the '06 Dynas.
Check out this document for the gory details. (IMHO, the '07 is a no-brainer unless you're getting a helluva deal on an '06.)
