not sure on that particular bike .but there is mention in the manual about weight limit plus the tires may have some rating as far as load as well .might wat to check into it.handling may become an issue have a safe trip

The bike will handle the weight just fine. Increase the tire pressure to 36-38 front, 38-40 rear.
About 25-30 lbs will probably be enough. Just take your hd pump just in case.

My 07 Ultra, same shocks as far as I know, wife and I together is around 300 lbs and with gear for a trip we go over the 400 lb mark easy. I have never had a problem. I keep the shocks at 25 lbs with the listed above pressure in the tires. I have never bottomed out.

my compressor only goes up to 175 psi. i gotta admit that was funny, wondering what's with this guy trying to put 400 psi in his shocks. i have an 08 sg and i believe 40 or 50 is the highest you're supposed to take them, but i'm not sure what is the pressure needed. my shop manual and owners manual are both out in the shop, otherwise i'd be glad to give you correct information. in 2009/2010 the shocks had a higher capacity i believe.

pre '09's max 25, '09 and up 50, but there is a weight limit on the machine itself and 400 is over limit. Poor bike.

Too funny! Post a note after the trip and let us know how "she" rode!

Id first check with the road commission? You may need a special weight tag and a wide load sticker if not a front and rear car or truck with a flashing light and stickers also..

I run mine at about 30 all the time. Check the book for max and run about 5psi under. JMHO.
