My rear tire mileage "blows" down here in Texas. I can hardly get 6K out of the rear 402s on a stock Ultra. The front does ok though, at 20+K.......... I don't know what the problem is, unless it's the kind of crap that Tx. D.O.T. uses to "pave" the roads with. Any way it is surely a pain!

Wow some of you guys get no mileage at all and others like myself get great tire mileage and I don't know why. Right now today I have 23403 miles on the original 402s. The rear will be replaced very soon due to inclement weather, I don't trust 3/32nd of tread for rainy northwest winters. The front on the other hand has 5/32nd of tread left.

I replaced my front tire at 30K and I just replaced my rear tire with 19800 on it. Could have easily done 21-22k but the timing was right to get a new one and I prefer to err on the side of safety. FWIW- I right a pretty even mix of solo/2-up and hwy/secondary roads. I run 40 psi rear and 36 psi front. I will add a few extra lbs of air in the rear if we're packed up for a trip.

Tire wear has a lot to do with the right hand and the right foot, especially on the rear. This also applies to brake pads. I ride a lot in the city. I got 12k on the rear tire. I will most like change both again around 24 k. Do to riding in the city and lots of traffic lights, I got 6k on my first two sets of rear brakes until I upgraded to the heavier duty ones that also don't dust the wheels. I tend to use my back brake to trim my speed. I am working on using my motor more.
