Default Brake lights

I was told by one of my riding buddies the other night, my brake lights weren't working, I checked the little switch on the right front brake, it seem to be ok,
where else should I look for problems. is there a fuse I need to take a look at, if so where is that particular fuse. I don't want to ride unless this is working, brake lights are important to me! and this is holding me up!

Thanks in advance, Dave

Hey Dave, Let us know what kinda bike you got it would help. But do check the obvious--Fuse/bulb/bad stoplamp switch contact? Does it work from the front brake and not the back? OR visa versa? I assume it doenst work ast all. So check fuses.

I have a 2002 Roadking, neither brake gets a response from the brake light, but I do get turn signals.

Dave,

Your tail light bulb has two elements... The normal brightness running light element and the brighter brake light element. If you remove the bulb you might be able to see a bad element, however a replacement bulb only costs a few dollars. If it fixes the problem, you are good... If it doesn't, you'll have a spare for when you get the brake lights up and running.

Bulbs only costs a few dollars and it is the quickest, easiest, and cheapest fix to try. If it doesn't work for you, then move on to a wiring/switch problem.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Rely on old adage KISS...keep it simple stupid. Start w/ the bulb and work it from there.
