RKC replacement windshields?
FINALLY got my long awaited RKC Friday. My first big twin, and what a sweet ride!
The windshield is exactly in the wrong place for me....gotta slouch to see through it, or stretch to see over it. Sit normal, and my line of sight is right at the top, which sucks. I'de like a 3-4in. shorter direct replacement shield. Something that would bolt on to the stock hardware, so as to keep the easy removal. Does anyone aftermarket make one? Harley has one for $129, but I was hoping to spend less. Any help?

Yeah, cut it down 2-3 inches is the general suggestion around here. Make a template of the top curve, pull it down, mark it, cut it and finish it with a sander.
Another option is to have a glass shop do it. One guy said it cost him only $15.00.
Sweet ride, by the way. I love the RKC in silver (or black - heheheh). What pipes do you have on there?

The exhaust is the SEII with the Howitzer tips. Wasn't actually what I was thinking of getting, but they came up for $150, so I jumped on 'em. Figure I'll use 'em till I decide if I like something better.

I had the exact same situation that you have - strain to look over or crouch to look through the stock RKC windshield. I bit the bullet and ordered the short windshield replacement and I love it!!!! I ordered mine through Hales Harley in Ohio - 20% off list everyday and no sales tax outside of Ohio - price was $104.00 plus shipping. Ordered with several other items, but the shipping was very reasonable.
Great looking bike and I know you are going to really enjoy it. [sm=happybounce.gif]

I had the same problem on my Ultra. I looked right at the top of the windshield. I bought a shorter tinted shield for 40 bucks on Ebay and it bolted right up. No cutting, sanding, filing and hoping I don't f*&k it up. You should have no problem finding one. Also, memphis shades makes a nice low profile windshield. Check them out too. www.mandmcycles.com has great prices.
