I to followed this method. I ran the SE Heavy for 8k miles and pulled it out and put in PJ1 Fork Tuner Fork Oil (Gold Series) 15wt. This was a trial to see which one would perform beter/worse etc. The SE Heavy was a big improvement over the stock oil less nose dive at stops and less of a slopy felling in the handling. I did feel to much of the road with the SE Heavy just a little to rough for me.

After installing the PJ1 15wt, I noticed an even better feeling in the front end than the SE Heavy. I eliminated the front end dive and dampening was much more consistent and even, instead of a jarring effect like the SE Heavy. So after the side by side comparison I will stick with the PJ1.

I know when I was going to change the fork oil the first time and I was researching Fork Oil Weights, there was a debate on the weight of the SE Heavy (15 or 20 wt etc) In the comparison I did, it would lead me to believe that the SE Heavy is a 20wt oil. It just had a little stiffer feel than the 15 wt. I cant say for sure that the SE is 20wt. I am just sharing what results I came up with.

That's good to know. The PJ1 is probably less expensive also.

I am still learning to wrench my bike. With that said, I managed to muddle my way through changing the fork oil and seals on my Road King with a little kind support from this forum.
