Mixing mufflers on same bike, cat and non-cat
Hi all,
I just bought an Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I noticed one of the mufflers had turned blue, while the other side was perfect. Upon removal, I discovered they were different part nos. The blue one is # 65863-95D Catalyst, while the other side is 65552-95C.
My assumption is that this is incorrect and that I should have 2 identical mufflers on either side and that the cause of the blue is the catalytic converter. I have sourced 2 mint 65552-95C mufflers in Belgium for about €200 for the pair and I am just wondering if I am correct in my thinking about mixing mufflers?
I would rather a quieter bike than a loud one, (bit weird, that, I know) so if these are the original stock items for the bike then I'll probably go for it.
Any, all advice greatly appreciated.

Some Harleys came with a cat on the right side! My advice is to go to fleabay and buy a set of non catylist mufflers and install them IF you want quiet and cooler. You can use several different year model mufflers. They will all fit. WTF was the moco thinking? That's NOT a very good setup in my book.
