Default New Touring Dunlop 09 and later

Stopped by the Dunlop stand at Biketoberfest, asked them about an Elite 3, they told me they will have a new Elite American model in January.

Chances are it won't "work" as described. It'll probably be lazy and expect a bailout from the government.

Hehe, I kind of thought the same hehe, it is a strange decision to go with a name like that.

You can already mount an Elite 3 radial on the rear of your 2009. It'll be 180/60-16 instead of 180/65-16 but the difference in height will be almost unnoticeable. The front is another issue: today, there's no Elite 3 in 17"

Is the load rating compatible? I tried to find a replacement for mine and had to buy a 407 because there is no direct replacement.

I don't know the number but since it's the tire mounted on the Goldwing, I'm pretty sure it has a more than sufficient load rating.

How many miles did you get on your rear tire? I have over 11K on mine and it still looks great. I've heard of guy's getting 18K.

Thanks, Ron

I have 18,800 on mine. No complanits at all, it's getting close to the wear indicators and I have an appointment Friday to get my new 407 mounted. I bought it online from a dealer that gives free shipping. $172.

I did some searching:
Elite 992lbs@41psi
407 1019@42psi

Thanks. 992lbs sounds more than adequate to me. My 407 is still good but when it's time to replace it, I'll mount an E3.
