Red face New to Forum - New to HD - May have overdone the exhaust?

OK, started riding in 1977 (yes I'm an old fart), all rice burners.

Last year (August, 2008), I traded in my GoldWing for a 2008 FLHTCUI.

I can never leave well enough alone, however. Love the sound - more sound! Enter the V&H Basic Slipons. Great sound, might be missing some torque (sonic or thermal pulse problems?) - more sound!! Found a GREAT price on V&H true duals . . . MOCO dealer happy to put them on (excited actually).

OOPS . . .

OMG, the sound is . . . magnificent . . . however, I can no longer hear my radio!!!

Crap . . . some of my buds say . . . PERFECT! But I think I overdid it . . .

Opinions?

Thanks!

Just wanted to stop in and welcome you to the forum. Not sure what kind of advice I can give you on your problem. I guess it's a trade off. Decide which one is more important and pursue that one. Either get a better sound system or quieter exhaust. Good luck whichever way you choose.

Welcome to the addiction. If the addiction has bitten you as badly as most here on the forums, you'll buy a louder stereo, then buy louder pipes again, then buy anoher louder stereo.

Not much advice other folks can give you, loudness is in the ear of the beholder!

I don't know man ... I think you probably ought to sell them to ME ... um ... at a REALLY good price! Seriously, if you don't like them, sell them and try something else.

I have the V&H dual headers with Monster Ovals and can hear the radio with no problems. You might try them, but the darn things are expensive. I got them on ebay in an amazing deal.

Welcome to HD Man, I'm an old fart too. Can't hear very well either...lol. I did the same thing with my 09 EGC. I upgraded my stock speakers to J&M three way speakers, 129.95 on ebay. Helped alot!
