Default 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glide Touring Review article

Hey guys,

How do you like the low seat on the Street Glide tourer? Do you have this '09 model? Thought about getting it? Did you go a different way and get a different Harley/motorcycle?

What are your opinions of it: the good and the bad? How do you use it: long trips or daily? How far have you taken yours? What's the longest trip you've been on with it?

You can catch the quick review at the top of our homepage: www.HDForums.com

Thanks

I have not went more than 275 miles in a day but had no problem and was very comfortable. I have had zero problems and am very pleased with my SG.

The SG seat is more for looks than comfort. Most miles in one day so far is right around 300 and I felt it that night. Seat looks cool but I am considering a sundowner for long rides.

The Sundowner is a great improvement over the stock seat. It makes the 300+ mile days comfortable, especailly for the passenger. No complaints from me and no problems to date (just over 1 yr and 3800 miles).

I have had mine since April 09 and the bike is awesome. Longest ride in 1 day was 522 mi. Generally 2-3 hundred and I don't feel worn out. Stock windshield is too short but looks cool. I added a taller w/s, backrest, luggage rack, gps, and cruise which is the first bike with cruise and won't go without it in the future. Have 5200 miles on so far. No problems with the bike.

The stock seat IMO is not really meant for long rides. I usually just use it for around town. For rides longer than 2 hours in a stretch I put on the Sundowner. My wife won't even get on the bike for a ride around the corner with the stock seat on the bike. I also added the adjustable backrest. I recommend that mod.

For me i like the looks of the stock seat but, anythingover 150 miles put my sundowner on.Plan on sending stock seat out over winter too MCC to get it reworked.Adding accessories like Tour Pac and Lowers also.Bike runs great but wish i got the Ultra instead.Have ridden 300+ miles in a day with Sundowner seat no problems.
