Nobody mentioned that the hard bags will not fit with the chrome bags rails for the leather bags. The rear corner of the hard bags hit the inside of the chrome rails before the bag will seat onto the bag support rail on the bottom. Am I doing something wrong?
i did the same swap on my 06 r/k .. i think you will find they look better w/o the rails

Sorry but I just don't know that much about Harley's yet, which is obvious. I've seen pictures of Road King Classic's with HD hard bags and what looked like the same rails as the ones I had on my RKC. I wrongfully assumed that the rails were the same ones. Now I understand how you guys end up with so many part over a period of time.

If you had an accessories catalog, you would have seen that they offer two different models of the same rail. Some call the catalog a "study guide".

That's why I have sold over $3,400 worth of Harely chit, just since January. LOL
The good news is: at least it's easy selling Harley chit.

I've got a set of the Nostalgia guards for a Road King if you decide you want them. I used them for a while and after I repainted decided not to go with them. PM me if you want them. I'm sure I can find em somewhere out in the garage. Just let me know....

See and it wouldn't have even occured to me until I tried the new bags, then I would have been pizzed, swore a little, then take them off.

What a deal, you've got a buyer for your old rails and a seller for the ones you need!!
