Default RG Owners w/ hard lowers & glove boxes...READ...Please!

Listed below are what I believe are the part #'s (I think) needed for the installation of the detachable hard lowers for the '09 RG. I've priced them at 2 differant internet sites to compare my dealer pricing.

Does the pricing look reasonable? Is installation of the lowers difficult? Are there other sites besides Surdyke & Zanotti's I should check?

In all honesty, it's not a big deal to remove the lower fairings with the stock hardware. Only takes a couple minutes. You can save yourself the $78 and not get the quick detach hardware.

........ i hadn't even thought about that angle ! I never take mine off, so detachable isn't really an issue.

it will take you less than an hour (drinking a beer included) to install the hard lowers

A better alternative may be to buy the brackets used on the 2010 RG fairing which would then allow you to use the vented lowers that include glove boxes. The non-vented lowers are only $25 less than the vented, but the glove boxes add $200+ to the cost of what you're buying.

Dawg posted the part nos. for the 2010 brackets a few weeks ago or so and IIRC the cost was under $100.

So, with vented lowers and the 2010 brackets, your cost will be less than what you currently plan to spend.

Will those brackets work with the early fairing? I thought the 2010 Fairing was .800 higher than the 09's and down. Seems like they would be to tall.

The brackets are what makes the fairing higher than previous years.

So there's no difference in the large fairing bracket under the fairing then Dawg, that would be great news! Where did they get the 2 degree tilt from and would the brackets work on a 05....Please tell me they will ....
