I'll start by saying I was an ems worker for a while and have high BP. I take BP meds twice a day. I also have what is commoly refered to as "white coat syndrome". That's when your BP goes up when you enter the Doctors office, but goes down when you leave. If your concerned about the accuracy of your BP it's really a simple thing to learn to take your own BP reading. You can buy a BP cuff and stethescope for cheap at wallmart or any pharmacy. I always present with high BP at the cardiologist office and then at home later I'll check it myself and i'm always in my normal range on my meds. I wouldn't want the Doc to put me on BP meds until it was determined that I had chronic high BP. These pills are no fun and can have unwanted side effects. Can you say Viagra.

I know riding raises your adrenalin level but I thought it was suppose to be relaxing at times, for most of us at least. The occasional errant cager will get your "dander" up so to speak.

I and my wife rode the Glide to a dentist appt when just by the way had a loose pea gravel parking area. I had to let wifey off so I could maneuver around to a parking area. When I signed in they...again...took my BP and said it was 205 over 140! WTF she took it again and was getting ready to call 911 as she honestly thought I was having a heart attack. I actually felt fine. I told her about wrestling a 900 lb Harley in her gravel driveway was the culprit!

Has anyone else had a problem with this?
Good responses here. I would go get a stress test. your BP is not something to take litely. I had the same problem about a year ago. I'm 67 and retired two years ago. My BP wasn't as high as your's, but it was 150/95 after taking a stress test and finding out my heart was ok. I bought a BP Monitor and started taking it at home. come to find out I had what they call white coat syn. My BP elavated when I was at the doctors office. Hope your's is not serious. I love to ride my Harley and would hate to have to stop anytime soon. Good Luck! Ron

As long as your doctor is giving you meds that keep it normal, you should be ok. I work in a high stress environment, and my stress level put me in the hospital one night. I was sure it was a heart attack, but just stress. Since I take xnax and zoloft at night, nothing stresses me out. they say it's addictive, but I'll take that over 911 anyday. I'm very chilled out these days

Need to go to a doctor. Had Heart attack at 35 and Open Heart at 45. High BP is nothing to screw around with.
